Welcome to The Daily Selah. My name is Elise Chanelle & I am so happy you are here.
My desire is that this would be a place of peace, love, and encouragement for all who visit. I am a follower of Jesus Christ, fueled by a genuine love for God and a desire for others to experience Christ’s deep love for them.
Growing up, I always enjoyed writing but didn’t take it very seriously apart from school essays and college papers. Over time, God has shown me the richness of putting pen to paper (or in this case, word to webpage!) as I’ve fallen in love with prayer journaling, Bible reading, and amazing books written by faith-filled men and women.
The beautiful thing about God’s love is that it demands to be shared. I deeply desire to see other people set free as they grow in their knowledge of Jesus and in turn allow Him to tell them who they are - loved, chosen, forgiven, redeemed, called, purposed, blessed, healed, and so much more.
As a twenty-something year old woman, I am all too familiar with the pressures of the world in which we live - job pressures, relationship pressures, unmet expectations, failure, disappointment, loneliness, and doubt. You are not alone. Jesus sees every tear you’ve ever shed & He calls you beloved.
The valleys have brought me to the feet of Jesus, to a place where I can truly say that I have been crucified with Christ, that it is no longer I who live but Christ who lives in me. The pain of life has taken me to a place of surrender - not my will, but Christ’s will be done. There is nothing more freeing.
God wants to use all of you - all the pain, all the brokenness - to glorify Him. I believe that when we come to the end of ourselves, we become like broken bread and poured out wine to be filled by a Father who lavishes His grace on us, who blesses us richly and abundantly, and who quenches us with Living Water that never fails to satisfy. We are comforted by the God of all comfort, and from a place of overflow we can then comfort others. What a privilege.
Here, in this little pocket of the internet, we will seek God and grow deeper and deeper in love with Jesus as we draw close to His heart and drench our minds with His truth. He is our Daily Bread, our peace, our joy, and the One who truly satisfies. Come rest in Him.
“Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”
Matthew 11:28-30 NKJV
